OSHA Warns of Phone Scam
OSHA recently sent out an e-mail alert to employers about an alleged phone scam in which people claiming to be OSHA employees threaten companies with fines unless companies purchase materials to put them into compliance with OSHA requirements.
The alert warned that any such callers are not OSHA employees. The required OSHA poster and other publications are available free of charge on the agency’s Website. To report a fraudulent solicitation, call (800) 321-OSHA, or contact your local OSHA area office or State Plan agency.
