Washington Watch:

The U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently revised its "Job Safety and Health: It’s the Law" poster. The new design features eye-catching, full-color photos and outlines the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees in keeping their workplaces safe and healthy.

The OSHA poster must be displayed in every workplace in the nation; however, previous versions are still valid. Employers are not required to replace their existing OSHA poster with the new version unless they wish to do so. The poster is free of charge and available online in both English and Spanish. It also can be ordered by calling 1-800-321-OSHA.

To complement the OSHA poster and other workplace safety and health materials, employers may choose to also display one or more posters available from DOL’s Working Partners program. These posters emphasize the importance of being drug free to working safely and are also free for the asking. They can be obtained or ordered online via the Working Partners Web site.
